About
Debbie Chessell is an artist from the Isle of Wight. Her work has been shown at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and is housed in international collections including the British Library (England), Dumfries House (Scotland), and University of Washington’s Suzzallo Library (USA).
After specialising in oil painting and drawing, she became interested in printmaking, and taught herself lino printing and wood engraving.
Previous awards and commissions include:
Residencies: Royal Drawing School Dumfries House (awarded by Kingston University) and First Floor Space (awarded by Croydon Arts Store).
Public art commissions: Mayor of London, Kingston Council, St George’s Hospital, St Pancras Hospital, and O2.
Teaching commissions: Mind, HEAL’S, The Garlic Farm, and Ewell Castle School.
