Object Painting commissions
Objects are incredibly powerful. Just one 'thing' can hold the most treasured memory, a family history, the atmosphere of a room, or even a strong allusion to a person. Work with award-winning artist Debbie Chessell to capture the essences of your precious objects in an Object Painting Commission.
How does this commission work?
Debbie offers one commission slot per month. Next availability: Feb 2020
To start, fill out the form below to book a free initial consultation.
If you decide to book a commission, Debbie will meet with you to see your chosen objects in person and discuss the significance they hold for you. Through this process, she will work with you to create an arrangement that highlights their importance to you through colour, light and composition.
Back in her studio, she will then immortalise the value these objects hold for you in an oil painting on stretched canvas approximately half a metre in size (the shape of the canvas e.g. landscape, portrait, square etc will be chosen to match whichever shape you both feel is most appropriate for the arrangement). This process will take approximately one month.
The painting will then be delivered to you once dry, roughly a month after completion, meaning the entire commission process from first meeting to receiving the painting takes two months.
Debbie Chessell is an award-winning artist who has exhibited internationally with institutions including the Royal Academy, St Pancras Hospital and Vestas. Her work is held in international collections including the Suzzallo Library (USA), Dumfries House (Scotland) and St George's Hosptial (London). Her practice has been supported by The Mayor of London Fund, O2, SHEDx, Kingston Council, Mind, Heal's and more. She has been trained at the Royal Drawing School, Kingston School of Art and The Slade.
This commission costs £1975 plus artist’s travel expenses
