Printmaking with Colour

Printmaking with Colour

Join me at the Museum of Futures for an in-depth course on how to create multi-block, multi-colour prints!

Course Date: 27th April 2019

Address: Museum of Futures, 117 Brighton Road Surbiton, England, KT6

This course spans over 6 hours and covers the complex technical skills required to create vivid and colourful prints. Basic lino printing experience is essential (e.g. you have carved and hand-printed a few of your own pieces at home or attended my workshop Introduction to Lino Printing). Throughout the day you will:

  • have the opportunity to experiment with both Japanese and Western style traditional lino printmaking tools

  • learn how to tactfully use the tension between colour and composition within your work

  • learn different methods of applying colour to your one-block prints

  • learn how to create multi-block prints that use different colours to create a depth of field

  • learn how to register multi-block prints and print them precisely by hand

  • create a series of prints from the block you carved during the session

Due to the intensive nature of this course, there are only 6 places available. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided - there are shops near by where you can purchase lunch.

Due to the sharp tools and length of this course, it is not suitable for children.

Tickets to this course cost £50 per person. You will receive a hand-printed ticket in the post.

This workshop is kindly sponsored by Great Art.

All purchases are final. Refunds are not available.
